Kruger Products Sherbrooke Tissue Plant selected as finalist at the 2023 Les Mercuriades

March 29, 2023  By P&PC Staff

Kruger Products Sherbrooke Tissue Plant was selected as a finalist in the 2023 edition of the Les Mercuriades business competition. The plant is a finalist in two categories: “Développement économique et régional” (economic and regional development) and “Manufacturier innovant” (innovative manufacturer).

Kruger Products says in a press statement that Sherbrooke’s nomination underscores the work done in building the plant during the COVID-19 pandemic, as well as the dedication, flexibility and collaboration shown by the employees that began operating the facility in that turbulent period.

The innovative technology used to create an advanced plant is also highlighted through this recognition.

At an event put together by Québec’s Federation of Chambers of Commerce (FCCQ) on March 24, both nominations were announced.

The awards are presented at Les Mercuriades. Created in 1981 by the FCCQ, they are coveted by businesses of all sizes and sectors of activity across the province, explains Kruger Products. Winners will receive them at the Federation’s annual awards ceremony in Montréal on May 23, 2023.

In 2022, the Sherbrooke plant won two awards at the 35th edition of the Gala Reconnaissance Estrie, presented by Sherbrooke’s Chamber of Commerce and Industry for Entreprise manufacturière (manufacturing company) and Rayonnement international (international reach).
