In keeping with phase II of its investment program in the packaging sector, Kruger Inc. will invest $7 million to establish and start up a new packaging plant in Brampton, Ontario. A healthy portion of this sum will be used to purchase and install a box-making press capable of producing four-colour corrugated packaging. The installation will permit Kruger the opportunity to increase its packaging capacity in the province while improving quality and offering its Ontario customers a diversified portfolio of services.
Kruger initiated the first phase of its program in 2002. Launched with a corrugator upgrade and an installation of a five-colour rotary die cutter press at its Rexdale, Toronto plant, a three-colour rotary die cutter press was also installed at its LaSalle, Montreal plant. The modernization process committed Kruger to a $12 million investment over a two-year period.
