Bowater is set to sustain a round of layoffs, a recent Forestweb report confirmed. The companys newsprint mill in Dalhousie, NB is succumbing to pressures from a difficult market and a robust Canadian dollar.

Although details concerning the layoffs will not be available until next month, Forestweb reported spokesperson George Cabana as saying the company needs to cut costs and will be reviewing its work organization, mill operations and staffing over the next couple of weeks.
