Lebel-sur-Quvillon, QC -Over three years after suspending operations at its Lebel- sur-Quvillon, Que. pulp mill, Domtar officially announced the permanent closure of the facility in December 2008.

Lebel-sur-Quvillon, QC -Over three years after suspending operations at its Lebel- sur-Quvillon, Que. pulp mill, Domtar officially announced the permanent closure of the facility in December 2008.

While a number of solutions were considered, hopes of reopening the facility were dashed in the weak global pulp market.

The mill, which had a 300,000-tonne annual production capacity of softwood kraft pulp, was closed indefinitely in November 2005, affecting about 430 employees.
