Domtar is shutting its mill in Lebel-sur-Quevillon, QC for good. According to a report by the Globe and Mail, the pulp mill, which employs 425 people, stopped production in November due to poor market conditions.

“The permanent closing of the mill comes after all other solutions have been considered in the last three years and as the global pulp market now faces deteriorating conditions, therefore putting an end to any expectation to relaunch a profitable operation at Lebel-sur-Quevillon,” the Globe reported the company as saying.
