This series provides a standard hydraulic flow rate of 20-21 gpm, matching the hydraulic flow and pressure requirements of clamps manufactured for use in these applications.
Manufacturers that do not have a secondary relief operate at the same pressure for all hydraulic functions, generating excessive flows up to 30 gpm. These flows exceed the capability of the attachment, generating unnecessary heat, causing the truck to dump hydraulic oil at relief pressure during clamp operation.
To address this flow mismatch problem, some manufacturers use an additional flow divider and secondary relief to divert the excess flow back to the tank and limit the pressure in the auxiliary hydraulic system.#text2#
