Owners of the Meadow Lake pulp mill have sought an extension on their creditor protection to carry them through until the end of March. The first protection was granted in December.
According to a report by Saskatoonhomepage.ca, discussions are being carried out by suppliers and creditors to try and find a way to cut back costs so the mill can become more economically sustainable. To date, the mill has had to lay off 20 of its 170 employees.
