Metso to upgrade Alfa Wood

Metso Panelboard is gearing up to upgrade and deliver equipment for Alfa Wood, Pindos SA’s fibreboard production line in Greece.

Included in the delivery is an upgrade of existing production equipment, as well as equipment and engineering services for a debarking line, a new press line, a pre-press and press equipment, a forming line and press outfeed, including in-line format saws. The existing production control system will be replaced by an automation system. The delivery also includes a measuring and optimization system for continuous in-line measuring of fibreboard production.

Although the value of the order was not disclosed, delivery is scheduled for the spring and summer of 2005. Start-up of the upgraded fibreboard production line is docked for September of this year.
