Aug. 22, 2017 – Central National Gottesman (CNG), a sales and marketing organization in the pulp, paper, packaging, tissue, wood products and metal industries, has announced that its Spicers Paper entity is acquiring the business of JC Paper, expanding its paper distribution presence in northern California and Nevada.

JC Paper is an independent, family-owned paper merchant that has been in business for more than 60 years, specializing in fine paper for the commercial print industry as well as the distribution of janitorial and food service supplies.

“Adding JC Paper to our West Coast operations will help strengthen our position in one of our key regions,” said Andrew Wallach, CNG president and CEO. “Our suppliers and customers will benefit from our combined operational and commercial expertise.”

“We are very much looking forward to working with our colleagues at JC Paper,” said Kelly Paper and Spicers Paper president Jan Gottesman. “Together, our organizations are committed to building upon JC’s already excellent reputation for customer service in the marketplace.”

The companies will consolidate operations in Fremont, Calif., including sales, customer service and distribution functions, and the Nevada retail space will become a Kelly Paper Store.

The transaction is expected to close August 31.
