Dates set for pulping, bleaching, boiler meetings

Several PAPTAC groups have announced dates for their fall meetings, which are spread across the country and include three mill tours.

The fall meeting of the Alkaline Pulping Community will be held in Nanaimo, B.C., at the Coast Bastion Hotel on Oct. 24-25. The meeting will include technical presentations, business meetings and a roundtable, plus a tour Catalyst Paper’s Crofton mill.

PAPTAC’s Bleaching Community will hold its fall meeting Oct. 24-26, hosted by West Fraser’s Hinton mill in Hinton, Alta. The meeting will begin with technical sessions, followed by presentations by the projects subcommittee and a roundtable on Tuesday, Oct. 25. A tour of the Hinton mill tour will be offered on Oct. 26.

The Eastern Canadian Black Liquor Recovery Boiler Advisory Committee (ECBLRBAC) has scheduled its fall meeting for Nov. 28 to Dec. 1. The event takes place at the Hilton Saint John, Saint John, N.B., and will include a tour of the Irving pulp mill.
