Charles Robert Tittemore, former president of Price Co. Ltd. and vice-president of Abitibi-Price, died of cancer at the Agape Manor Hospice in Calgary last June. He was 77. Tittemore graduated in chemical engineering from the University of Saskatchewan in 1942, and was subsequently hired as production supervisor at St. Maurice Chemicals Ltd. in Shawinigan, QC, which was manufacturing explosives for the allies during the Second World War. Shortly after the war, he began his career in the forest products industry, working in Chandler, QC, Grand Falls, NF, as well as in Vancouver, Montreal, Quebec City and Toronto. He served on the boards of directors of several major companies and industry-related organizations, including the Canadian Pulp and Paper Association. He was the first executive-in-residence at University of Calgary’s School of Management, and served on the board of the Calgary Flames hockey team, receiving a Stanley Cup ring in 1989. He is survived by his wife, Ruby; two sons, Robert and James; and six grandchildren.
