Mondi relaunches IQ as intelligent paper brand
Feb. 2, 2018 - Mondi, a global packaging and paper group, is giving its office and professional printing paper IQ a new look. The IQ brand concept revolves around intelligence and what it means to be an intelligent paper solution, and with 99.99% trouble-free runnability is suitable for offset to digital printing applications.
First launched in 2001, the rejuvenated image for IQ includes a new logo, freshly designed ream wrappers, and new sales and marketing tools.
Thirty-six colours and a grammage range from 60 up to 400 g/m² comprise the IQ portfolio. In a move to help address end-customers’ challenges with printing, Mondi introduced the Performance Champion for the IQ paper portfolio. In addition, IQ Smooth and IQ Premium both feature ColorLok Technology, which enhances the quality of inkjet printing. With ColorLok, pigments are held close to the surface, resulting in more vivid colours, bolder blacks and faster drying time.
“IQ is already one of the best-known paper brands in Europe,” said Johannes Klumpp, marketing and sales director, Mondi Uncoated Fine Paper. “So we want to maintain its high profile and also highlight the great versatility of this portfolio: There is an IQ suitable for every printing technology and every purpose.”
Intelligence, as defined by Mondi, is the mental quality that enables one to learn from experience and adapt to new situations. “This is exactly what our IQ papers stand for in the printing industry as they are versatile and can be easily adapted to all printing situations,” said Klumpp.
As with all Mondi uncoated fine papers, IQ is part of the company’s Green Range, which indicates sustainable paper production. IQ papers fulfill Mondi’s Green Range criteria for either FSC or PEFC certification for responsibly managed forests. All Mondi IQ papers also carry the EU Ecolabel. IQ branded papers are produced at all three of Mondi’s European paper mills: Mondi Neusiedler in Austria, Mondi SCP in Slovakia, and Mondi Syktyvkar in Russia.
