Paper machine back up at Catalyst

May 14, 2018  By P&PC staff

May 14, 2018 – Paper machine 11 went into startup mode on May 7 at Powell River, B.C.’s Catalyst Paper Corporation after a three-week production curtailment, the Powell River Peak has reported.

The curtailment of uncoated groundwood paper began April 16 in response to a shortage of fibre and U.S. Department of Commerce tariffs on uncoated groundwood paper.

No layoffs occurred during the curtailment.
