THREE RIVERS, MI — Johnson Corporation has developed a high-speed rotary joint and cantilever syphon system for use on open gear paper machines. The system can operate at a differential pressure of 0.14 bar (2 psig) and with blow-thru rates as low as 5%. Among the syphon’s features are compactness, its ability to remain in the “six-o-clock” position, a patent-pending insulating sleeve that protects the bearings, and a balanced seal that keeps to a minimum load and wear.
