Tim Hess leads Glatfelter specialty papers unit

Jan. 10, 2017 – Glatfelter has promoted Timothy R. Hess to senior vice president and business unit president, Specialty Papers.

In his new role, Hess will have overall P&L responsibility and will work to guide the strategic direction for the business unit.

A 22-year veteran of Glatfelter, Hess has held various assignments in technical, operations, sales and marketing, and general management. Most recently, he served as vice president, sales and marketing for the Specialty Papers Business Unit.

“Tim has been a driving force behind Specialty Papers’ successful track record of outperforming the broader uncoated freesheet market for the past 12 years, while also helping to shape the strategy for the business,” said Dante C. Parrini, chairman and CEO.

John P. Jacunski, who has led the unit since April 2016, in addition to his role as CFO, will continue serving as CFO.

Parrini noted that Hess’s promotion will enable Jacunski to “focus all of his efforts on the execution of a number of high-priority initiatives across our businesses and the financial aspects of the company overall.”

Glatfelter is a global supplier of specialty papers and fiber-based engineered materials. Headquartered in York, Penn., the company employs more than 4,300 people and operates facilities internationally, including Gatineau, Que.
