Vancouver-based Western Forest Products Inc. has announced that Dominic Gammiero retired as chairman and director of the company on February 21, 2014. He had joined the board of directors in 2006 and served as chief executive officer between October 2010 and February 2013, and as chairman thereafter.
Lee Doney, who has played a significant role in the turnaround of the company since its restructuring in 2004, was nominated by the board as chairman, effective February 21, 2014.
Western is an integrated Canadian forest products company and the largest coastal British Columbia woodland operator and lumber producer, with an annual available harvest of approximately 6.4 million cubic metres of timber and lumber capacity in excess of 1.1 billion board feet from eight sawmills and two remanufacturing plants.
