Biomass technology provider Nexterra Energy Corp. has added three executives to its North American sales force, strengthening the company’s strategic focus on regional biomass energy opportunities. The three senior sales executives will be responsible for supporting the growing demand for Nexterra’s commercial proprietary gasification technology in key markets, within the institutional and industrial sectors.

Joining Nexterra’s sales organization are Jim McNamara, covering the Northeastern U.S., Jo-Ann Yantzis for Eastern Canada and the Great Lakes Region, and Jonathan Harris, who will be responsible for new business development.

McNamara has extensive executive experience in the renewable energy sector, most recently as chief operating officer at New Energy Capital, managing their portfolio of alternative energy projects.

Yantzis brings 25 years of experience in business development and environmental regulatory affairs, including 12 years in the alternative fuel industry.

Harris joins Nexterra from Vancouver-based Westport Innovations, where he was responsible for market development and sales.

Nexterra’s gasification technology is commercially proven for converting wood residue such as bark, branches, and sawdust into renewable synthetic gas or “syngas” which enables customers to economically self-generate renewable heat and/or power inside the fence.
