Norbord has completed its acquisition of an oriented strand board and particleboard facility at Genk, Belgium. The operation will be integrated with Norbord’s existing European panel business in the United Kingdom.

Located approximately 100 kilometres east of Brussels, the mill will be able to cater to customers in the Benelux countries, Germany and Scandinavia.

The transaction totaled 50 million. The company intends to invest a further 13 million in order to improve the site’s efficiencies and implement environmental amelioration measures.
