Catalyst Paper, on the heels of its acquisition of the recycled newsprint mill in Snowflake, AZ, has made adjustments to its executive portfolio. Brian Baarda has been appointed vice president of operations, assuming responsibility for newsprint, old newspaper procurement and recycling. Brian Johnston now holds the position of vice president of operations for specialty paper and pulp. At the same time, the company confirmed the retirement of Ron Buchhorn, senior vice president of operations.

Baarda was most recently the vice president of the company’s Powell River Division, while Johnston has held positions as vice president of technical services for the Elk Falls Division and vice president of technical services.

PTO (PROFIBUS and PROFINET) North America has appointed Victor Wolowec to its board of directors. Wolowec is vice president of solutions business at Endress +Hauser. He replaces on the board Todd Hubell, who has been promoted to vice president of logistics for Endress +Hauser.

Re-manufacturer and distributor of lumber products Goodfellow, has announced the retirement of Peter RD Mackell, as secretary and chairman of the audit committee, member of the compensation committee, and director of the company. He is succeeded by G. Douglas Goodfellow as secretary, Claude Garcia as chairman of the audit committee and Andre Julien as member of the compensation committee.
