The Ontario government is giving the province’s forestry industry a break; a tax break. Improvements to tax incentive programs announced by Ontario’s Minister of Natural Resources will help protect forests and enhance sustainable harvest practices, says the Ontario Forest Industries Association.

"Our concerns were brought to Minister Ramsay just two months ago and his prompt response is well received by our industries," commented OFIA president and CEO Jamie Lin. "Private landowners are under increasing pressure to convert forested areas to other uses, and by providing incentives to protect treed areas, both ecological and economic benefits can be achieved and sustained for the long term."
