Don Roberts, managing director, CIBC World Markets and leader of the FPAC Future Bio-pathways project, will be the keynote speaker at this year’s PacWest conference and trade show. With a theme of Partnering for Transformation, the event combines business and technical sessions with table-top exhibits and social activities.
The annual conference of PAPTAC’s Pacific Coast and Western branches will be held from June 9-12 at the Delta Sun Peaks Resort, near Kamloops, B. C.
The opening session will feature Paul Lansbergen of FPAC; Levi Sampson, Harmac Pacific; Glenn Hargrove, Canadian Forest Service; and Hannu Melarti, Kemira.
Several papers on the subject of pulping of mountain pine beetle-infested wood will be of interest to pulp mills in affected areas. Energy management and biorefining are two other areas of coverage.
A special feature this year is a Tour of the waste heat recovery operations at Spectra Energy’s Savona site, located about 45 minutes from Kamloops. Space on the tour is limited; those interested are encouraged to sign up early.
