Paper Excellence, Catalyst sue for damages after 2018 gas explosion

January 14, 2021  By P&PC Staff

Catalyst Paper Corp. and its parent company, Paper Excellence, are suing for damages incurred after a natural gas pipeline exploded near Prince George, B.C. in October 2018, severing gas supply to their paper mills.

The Prince George Citizen reports that the resulting gas shortage – which lasted two months as customers operated under restricted access – affected mill production.

The companies are suing Enbridge and Westcoast Energy for an undisclosed amount.
