Paper machine catches fire at Corner Brook Pulp and Paper

Corner Brook Pulp and Paper experienced a paper machine fire late in the evening of Jul. 16.

According to CBC News, an emergency whistle started around 11:30 p.m. and flames were witnessed coming through the roof of the Kruger-owned mill in Corner Brook, Newfoundland.

The city’s fire chief told the news outlet that the fire started near the roof and did not cause severe damage.

The fire was contained within 20 minutes and fully out by around 2 a.m. on Jul. 17.
