Paper sector helps to push overall manufacturing sales up in October: StatsCan

The pulp and paper sector drove up manufacturing sales growth in Canada in October, according to a new report by Statistics Canada.

The Canadian Press reports overall manufacturing sales increased by 0.3 per cent to $54.1 billion that month, pushed by gains in the paper, petroleum and coal industries.

Sales from the pulp, paper and paperboard industries jumped 5.4 per cent to $2.4 billion in October.
