Quebec mill Papier Masson is for sale. The integrated, one paper machine newsprint mill has enlisted the services of BMO Nesbitt Burns to act as its selling agent.
According to BMO Nesbitt Burns investment advisor Anthony Sachlas, the mill officially went on the market at the end of September. Details concerning potential buyers and financial figures have not been made public as of yet.
The mill first began churning out paper in 1930. It now produces over 225,000 tonnes of newsprint annually on its paper machine that was constructed in 1986.
In December of 1998, then owner Industries James Maclaren sold the mill to a group of investors who subsequently created Papier Masson Lte.
