PAPTAC award winners to be honored at PaperWeek welcome reception

Winners of PAPTAC awards in 2012 will be feted at a reception to kick-off PaperWeek Canada on Monday, Jan. 30 at 6:30 pm at the Fairmont Queen Elizabeth Hotel in Montreal.

Winners of PAPTAC awards in 2012 will be feted at a reception to kick-off PaperWeek Canada on Monday, Jan. 30 at 6:30 pm at the Fairmont Queen Elizabeth Hotel in Montreal.

Dr. Martin P. Pelletier, founder of Cascades’ Research Centre, is the recipient of this year’s John S. Bates Memorial Gold Medal, in recognition of his long-term contribution to the science and technology of the pulp and paper industry.

An Honorary Life Membership will be bestowed upon Ms. Marie Dumontier, Deputy Director, Pulp and Paper Green Transformation Program, NRCan, in recognition of her extraodinary work and leadership as past Chairman of PAPTAC (2007-2008).

Further award recipients will be announced on www.paperweekcanada.ca in the coming weeks.

The official presentation of the John S. Bates Memorial Gold Medal will take place during the Annual General Meeting of the Association during Wednesday’s PaperWeek Luncheon.
