Mary Barnes has been appointed PAPTAC West Coast representative to support and enhance participation in PAPTAC’s branches, committees, and activities. She will also be a key contact and information source for members in western Canada.

Weyerhaeuser’s Fred Rowson has been named VP, Alberta. Rowson replaces Cathy Slater in her role as leader of the company’s Alberta Management Council.

Harold Bergman has been appointed chairman of the board at Badger Paper. The Milwaukee-based manufacturer of flexible packaging and specialty papers also announced that President and CEO Ronald Swanson has been named a director.

The Georgia Forestry Association, which represents the state’s $30-billion forestry community, has appointed Steve McWilliams, a veteran of professional trade association management in Georgia, as its new executive director.

International Paper has named Newland Lesko as executive vice president. He will be responsible for the implementation of company-wide manufacturing initiatives and technology.

O. George Everbach, 64, senior VP for law and government affairs, announced that he will retire from Kimberly-Clark Corp. at the end of August 2003. Ronald D. Mc Cray, 45, currently VP, associate general counsel and secretary, has been elected by the company’s board of directors to succeed him.

Robert (Bob) Yeager has been named president of the Process Systems business unit of Emerson Process Management. Yeager replaces Tom Snead, who now heads Emerson Process Management’s Systems and Solutions business.

Jeff Rake has been named the new VP and mill manager at Weyerhaeuser’s Pine Hill, AL, containerboard operations. He will replace Jim Emerson, who retires later this year.

Stora Enso announced that Elisabet Salander Bjrkland has been appointed executive VP and head of Wood Supply Europe. Jarmo Alm, has been appointed senior VP, Business Area Newsprint and Book Papers in Stora Enso Publication Paper Division. Per-Olof Wedin has been appointed senior VP, Business Area Uncoated Magazine Paper and Pulp, Stora Enso Publication Paper Division. Ulf Eliasson has been appointed Mill Manager, Skoghall Mill.

Deltic Timber appoints Ray C. Dillon, 47, as president and CEO. Dillon will be replacing Ron L. Pearce, who had previously announced his intentions to retire August 1, 2003.

Nexfor Inc. announced the creation of three executive VP positions. J. Barrie Shineton is appointed executive VP, Wood Products. This position brings together under one responsibility Nexfor’s panelboard businesses in Canada, the United States and the United Kingdom. Bert Martin is appointed executive VP, Paper. Martin, with more than 30 years experience in the pulp and paper industry, will continue to be responsible for all aspects of Nexfor’s Fraser Papers business, as well as Katahdin Paper Inc. in Maine. John Tremayne is appointed executive VP, Finance. He will continue to be responsible for finance, tax and corporate secretarial and administration, and will add strategic planning and corporate development to his role.

Kadant Black Clawson Inc. named Peter J. Flynn as president, succeeding Edwin Healy, who is now VP of Kadant Inc.’s worldwide stock-preparation businesses.

Quebecor World Inc. announced the appointment of Yvan Lesniak as managing director of operations, Quebecor World France. Lesniak will be replacing Vincent Bastien, who has left the company to pursue other career opportunities.#text2#
