Smurfit-Stone has elected EUGENE C. SIT to its board of directors. The appointment expands the company's board to nine members. Sit is currently chairman, CEO and chief investment officer of Sit Investment Associates, a company he founded in 1981.

Smurfit-Stone has elected EUGENE C. SIT to its board of directors. The appointment expands the company’s board to nine members. Sit is currently chairman, CEO and chief investment officer of Sit Investment Associates, a company he founded in 1981.

Ahlstrom Corporation’s board of directors has appointed JUKKA MOISO president and CEO of the corporation. Previously president of the FibreComposites division of Ahlstrom, Moiso assumed his new duties on September 1, 2004. He has worked for the company in various capacities since 1991.

JAN KILDAL has resigned his post as chief financial officer at Norske Skog, after holding the title for nine years. VIDAR LERSTAD, senior vice president for strategy will act as CFO for a transitional period. During this time, responsibility for corporate information technology will be designated to ROLF NEGARD, senior vice president of human resources and organization.

DALE MITCHELL has been promoted converting manager at Weyerhaeuser’s pulp, paper and packaging mill in Plymouth, North Carolina. A 17-year veteran of the mill, Mitchell is responsible for overseeing all aspects of converting operations.

ANDRE BERARD has been appointed Unifort’s Chairman of the Board. He replaces Michel Perron. CAM GENTILE and JACQUES LAQUERRE were elected as the company’s directors.

ROBIN LUCK has been promoted to vice president of marketing for Buckman Laboratories International. Luck began his career as a process engineer with Abitibi Price. He joined Buckman Laboratories in 1999 to lead its corporate sales effort for its US company.

GREGORY PRULLAGE of Graphic Packaging International has received the second annual Mill Buyer Award. The honour was announced at the Paper Recycling Conference & Trade Show, held in June in Atlanta, Georgia.

G. CRAIG SULLIVAN has been elected to Kimberly-Clark’s board of directors. Sullivan retired his position as chairman and CEO of the Clorox Company in 2003. His career in the consumer products industry spans 37 years.

JUKKA TIITINEN has been named president of Metso Paper North America. He has been with the company since 1987. He has relocated to Atlanta Georgia.
