Black Clawson has named FRED SUPPON manager of mechanical engineering, where he will be responsible for overseeing and coordinating all aspects of mechanical engineering and machine design.

GREG MAULE has been named mill manager for Stora Enso’s Wisconsin Rapids mill. Prior to this appointment, he held positions as superintendent and production manager, and was most recently manager of the company’s Niagara mill.

Stora Enso made an additional appointment, naming JOHN REICHERT manager of the Niagara mill.

WILLIAM McCARTHY has been named executive vice president-PMC at Albany International.

Smurfit-Stone Container Corporation has promoted five financial executives to vice presidential positions. ROGER BECKER is now vice president, taxes. JIM CHOU has been appointed vice president and controller for the containerboard mill division. KEN KUSHIBAB is vice president and controller for the consumer packaging division, whereas LARRY QUATMANN is now vice president and controller for the corrugated container division. JEAN WYSE was promoted to vice president, enterprise process integration.

Senior vice president and chief financial officer of International Paper CHRISTOPHER LIDDELL has resigned from the company.

Weyerhaeuser has named DAVID LARSEN vice president of corporate communications, where he will be responsible for the management of the company’s reputation advertising, external and internal communications, while providing counsel to management, business and staff leaders.

CLARK S. BINKLEY has been elected to TimberWest Forest Corp.’s board of directors.

PAUL J. SCHUTES has been appointed executive director of the Washington-based trade group the 100% Recycled Paperboard Alliance.

HANS MULLER, a member of the corporate board of management of Voith AG, Heidenheim, responsible for the Voith Paper and Voith Fabrics division, has retired.

A move by Kimberly-Clark to combine its North Atlantic personal care and family care divisions into one organization, prompted the appointment of STEVE KALMANSON as group president, North Atlantic consumer products.

West Fraser has nominated ROBERT PHILIPS to its board of directors.

Georgia Pacific has elected two new directors, THOMAS BELL and JON BOSCIA to serve until the company’s 2008 annual meeting is held. Reelected to new terms were JAMES BALLOUN, PETE CORRELL and JOHN ZEGLIS.
