Apr. 12, 2017 - Voith says its SkySoft creping blade will ensure constant tissue quality, describing its “specially developed” ceramic tip as “highly wear-resistant for a longer lifetime and less machine downtime.” According to the company, the SkySoft blades are part of an automated production process which is compatible with all different machine applications and blade holders, adding that SkySoft was also designed to reduce friction on the Yankee cylinder, which help avoid damage to its surface.
Jan. 30, 2017 - Kadant Solutions has launched its Conformatic AL creping holder, describing its as a next-generation holder that incorporates the “latest technology bringing improved blade holder performance to the tissue market.”
Voith has improved and refined its paper machines for all paper grades. According to the company, the machines from the new XcelLine offer fast and easy start-up, excellent value for money, pioneering technologies, ease of use and integrated solutions.
A common reason for an unscheduled shoe press belt change is cracks. When an external object or hard paper wad hits the belt harshly it may cause a crack or a puncture hole. Sometimes the sleeve may seem intact outside, but a small crack may have generated which ultimately can lead to an oily spot in the felt, a hole in the paper, poor web moisture profiles, off-spec paper quality, sleeve delamination and eventually, an unplanned belt change.
