In an effort to learn more about what our readers think about the most salient issues currently characterizing the industry, Pulp & Paper Canada has introduced the Pulp & Paper People Poll. In today’s world, production efforts are only worthwhile if energy consumption is reduced. P&P must recognize we are converting and marketing energy first and fibre is now the vehicle that carries the energy. Business success will only be realized by those that can market the least net energy for the best return. P&P products that are competing with other energy-based products will lose out if energy usage is higher long term.
