December 1, 2009 By Pulp & Paper Canada
Quebec’s Ministry of Natural Resources and Wildlife has created an $8-million program to spur developments in green and renewable energy. The two-year program is aimed at encouraging research and innovation for biomass, wind, hydro, solar, geothermal, and hydrogen energy, as well as electric vehicles.
The province has also set up a green and renewable energy team to advise the ministry on development opportunities. By winter 2010, the team is expected to make a report with recommended government actions.
