Renewable energy producer Innoventé Inc. has received $400,000 in repayable funding from the Economic Development Agency of Canada for the Regions of Quebec.
Innoventé has developed a “bio-drying” technology to convert various types of organic waste—including pulp and paper sludge, municipal sewage and manure—into a renewable fuel source for the production of electricity and heating energy.
The firm has signed a 25-year power supply contract with Hydro-Québec Distribution.
The financial support will help Innoventé purchase and install three bio-dryers and ramp-up to industrial-scale production at its Saint-Patrice-de-Beaurivage cogeneration plant.
