Resolute announces winners of Université Laval scholarships
December 29, 2020 By P&PC Staff
Resolute Forest Products has announced the 11 winners of its annual $1,000 scholarships at the Université Laval in Quebec City.
Five scholarship recipients are studying forest management and environment (Félix Baril-Veillette, Frédéric Brunet, Pierina Désourdy, Emmanuel Jean and Ann-Julie Lévesque).
Three are studying forestry operations (Guillaume Fortin, Jérémy Fortin and Raphael Marcotte).
The final three are studying geography (Sabrina Allard), biology (Camille Bédard) and wood engineering (Jean-Sébastien Lavoie).
The company says that training in these fields will set up the students for success in the forest products sector, should they choose to pursue a career in the industry.
Each spring, Resolute also provides scholarships for graduate students pursuing Master’s or PhD degrees in fields pertaining to forestry or wood products.
In 2019, Resolute donated funds for scholarships, research grants, buildings and other needs totalling close to $402,000.
