Resolute has been recognized by its transportation partner CN for the fourth consecutive year for its efforts in emission reductions and energy efficiency.

CN’s EcoConnexions Partnership Program celebrates CN customers and supply chain partners dedicated to sustainable initiatives.

For the past decade, Resolute has reported its environmental efforts to the Global Reporting Initiative, which maintains worldwide sustainability reporting standards.

The company has reduced its greenhouse gas emissions by 81 per cent since 2000 and 100 per cent of its owned or managed woodlands are certified by either Sustainable Forestry Initiative (SFI) or the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC). In 2018, the company recorded 17 environmental incidents, an 11 per cent improvement over 2017, and aims to reach zero incidents.

“CN is proud to recognize our partners for their efforts to reduce supply chain emissions, increase energy efficiency and drive sustainable business practices,” says Mark Lerner, vice-president of marketing and business development at CN.

The railway company is planting 120,000 trees in 2019 throughout Canada and the United States to honour its EcoConnexions partners.
