Resolute Thunder Bay pulp and paper mill employees donate safety, vaccination awards

Employees Resolute Forest Products Thunder Bay, Ont., pulp and paper mill have donated the award funds from the company’s safety program and vaccination support program to their local community organizations.

Resolute announced on LinkedIn the employees had received a $5,000 Board of Directors Safety Award for reaching 250,000 hours of work without a single recordable injury, and $10,000 for reaching a vaccination threshold of at least 75 percent under the COVID-19 Program to Support Vaccination.

The employees then donated the funds to three community organizations: Toys for Tots, the Dew Drop Inn and the Salvation Army.

“Resolute management congratulates and commends its employees on their commitment to a safe and healthy workplace and their active support for causes near and dear to them,” the company stated.
