Resolute wins innovation award for TMP-Bio plant

Resolute Forest Products recently won an innovation award for its thermomechanical pulp (TMP) biorefinery in Thunder Bay, Ont.

The company received the silver Edison Award in the manufacturing, logistics and transportation category for the TMP-Bio plant.

Named after Thomas Alva Edison, the Edison Awards celebrate innovative global products, services and business leaders. Over 150 companies from around the world receive the award annually.

Resolute partnered with FPInnovations on the patented technology for the TMP-Bio plant uses a patented technology developed by FPInnovations for the commercial production of large quantities of bio-sourced chemicals.
