Resolute wins sustainability award for greenhouse gas reduction investments

Resolute Forest Products has won a sustainability award from the Business Intelligence Group (BIG) for its recent climate change initiative.

The company received a 2019 Sustainability Award for best Sustainability Initiative of the Year (project) in BIG’s annual Sustainability Awards, which recognize individuals and organizations who have focused on sustainability efforts in their business.

According to the company’s blog, it’s the third year in a row Resolute has won a Sustainability Award.

The award recognizes Resolute’s 2018 commitment to greenhouse gas reduction investments at its Saint-Félicien pulp mill in Quebec and Thunder Bay pulp and paper mill in Ontario, as well as its project with CO2 Solutions Inc. to capture carbon from the Saint-Félicien mill for the Toundra Greenhouse.

In 2019, Resolute has won 14 regional, North American and international awards for its corporate social responsibility and sustainability practices.
