According to a report by the Thunder Bay News Source, the sale of Neenah Paper’s mill in Terrace Bay is looking more and more like a distinct possibility.

A wood allotment agreement with potential buyer Buchanan and the ministry of natural resources was struck on July 12, providing Buchanan with some much-needed optimism for the purchase.

TB News Source further reported Buchanan spokesperson Yves Fricot as saying that as a result of this agreement, the mill could potentially reopen as early as September 1, 2006. The company is now looking to secure financing for the purchase.

Additionally, the company has to be able to come to an agreement with striking woodlands workers. Nearly 200 of them have been on strike for the past seven months.
