SCA Tissue North America began tissue converting operations in their new Barton facility in the middle of April, as scheduled. Production of SCA’s Mainstree branded napkins has begun; these napkins are typically sold to customers in the foodservice industry. SCA Tissue anticipates the first full truckload of product will be produced by the end of this week and shipped to its warehouse in Atlanta, GA.
As announced last fall, SCA Tissue is investing $240 million to build an integrated tissue facility (converting, papermaking and warehousing) in the Barton Riverfront Industrial Park. The new facility will enable the company to optimally service customers in the southeastern US while improving operation efficiencies throughout their North American operations.
