Production, logistics and maintenance workers at the SCA tissue converting plant in Bellemont Arizona have voted 88-50 for union representation. The Paper, Allied-Industrial, Chemical and Energy (PACE) Workers International union will represent 180 workers at the Bellemont facility.

Workers have grown disgruntled with their lack of representation and influence in the workplace and the company’s changing policies.

SCA and PACE have acceded to detailed ‘principles of behavior,’ designed to remove the confrontation typically faced by workers when they try to organize. It is hoped the agreement will foster an environment conducive to positive, forward movement in PACE’s dealings with SCA.
