SOUTH PORTLAND, ME — A mill can receive warning of possible equipment failure up to 12 weeks before it would take place. Such is the bold claim that Envatec makes of its newly developed software, Envamonitor. The company says the monitoring software can foresee impending equipment failure and, as well, identify its source or cause. Envatec, a high-tech manufacturer of industrial hardware and software monitoring and control equipment, says the software can be used to monitor gears, pumps, blowers and other industrial mechanisms. The software, which works by building artificial intelligence models of the relationship among monitored parameters, also features wireless data collection.
