Solenis has been awarded top marks for corporate social responsibility (CSR) by EcoVadis, a sustainability ratings and performance improvement platform that evaluates global supply chains.

The specialty chemicals manufacturer achieved gold recognition, landing in the top five per cent of performers evaluated by EcoVadis in the category of chemical industry.

“With a core focus on people, performance and results, sustainability is crucial to the success of our operations, and that, in turn, enables us to help customers prosper while meeting and exceeding their own sustainability goals,” says Dr. Daniel Grell, Solenis senior vice-president, environmental, health and safety; product regulatory and quality.

“Participation in the EcoVadis assessment helps us to better understand our CSR performance and how we compare against the chemical industry.”

The EcoVadis methodology is built on international CSR standards, including the Global Reporting Initiative, the United Nations Global Compact, and the ISO 26000, covering 198 purchasing categories, 155 countries and 21 CSR issues grouped in four themes: environmental impacts of operations and products, labour and human rights, ethics and sustainable procurement.
