A problem with dust accumulation has prompted Stora Enso to modify part of its newsprint Machine 4 at its Langerbrugge mill in Belgium. Although the machine is running efficiently and paper quality is good, dust accruing on printing plates when printing a high number of copies on certain paper machines, led to the decision to modify part of the machine.

The modification project is scheduled for early 2005 and will take about five weeks. About 40,000 tonnes of production will be lost during the shutdown.
