Stora Enso’s Duluth Paper Mill and Duluth Recycled Pulp Mill will reduce its work force by 40 positions as company officials reorganize the mills’ work processes, it was announced by Pat Moore, mill manager.
The work force reductions will allow the mills to maintain their competitive position in an increasingly competitive industry, Moore said. The cuts will come from the mills’ production and maintenance areas and are effective immediately.
Affected employees will be offered a comprehensive severance package that includes two weeks base pay per year of service. They can also utilize company-paid assistance in finding new employment.
