In response to the recent competition authority investigations, Stora Enso has enlisted the help of law firms Van Bael & Bellis in Brussels and Sivenius & Suvanto in Helsinki, Finland. Following inspections that were carried out at the company’s European and United States locations, the firms have been hired to review the documents submitted to the European Commission and the Finnish Competition Authority. In the U.S. the firm McDermott has been commissioned to assist in the response preparation process.

“Stora Enso has had a longstanding competition compliance policy and the organization has been trained for implementing it,” confirmed chief executive officer Jukka Harmala. “Therefore, Stora Enso is treating these issues seriously.”
