The move was first announced last October.

BASF says the concentration of the production of paper dispersions in Ludwigshafen and Hamina, which is associated with the divestiture of the production site in Pischelsdorf, will strengthen its competitiveness in the European market. At the same time, the company says it plans to expand its market position as a supplier of dispersions for paper finishing, in particular in the field of packaging and barrier applications.

The Dispersions & Pigments division of BASF develops, produces and markets a range of pigments, resins, additives and polymer dispersions worldwide. These raw materials are used in formulations for coatings and paints, printing and packaging products, construction chemicals, adhesives, fibre bondings, plastics, and paper as well as for electronic applications such as displays.
