While Tembec is helping give jobs back to Nackawic residents, it’s taking away 160 in St. Francisville, LA.
According to www.theadvocate.com, the company has informed the state Department of Labor that it will be firing 160 people beginning on Christmas Eve. Maintenance, operations, administrative, professional, supervisory and sales positions are on the chopping block, the site reported.
Tembec bought the mill in 2001, when the previous owner went bankrupt. No reasons for the layoffs have yet been confirmed.
