Tembec received an injunction yesterday that will safeguard its access to its Timmins and Cochrane, ON sawmills. The company anticipates the injunction will be respected and that it will be able to resume normal operations in the area.
"Tembec is aware of the issues faced by truck oeprators in the Timmins area," confirmed the company’s forest products group president, James Lopez. "We have already begun discussions with those of our contractors who use truck operations. We hope that these discussions will be positive and lead to long term win-win solutions for all parties involved." Lopez added the company recognizes the challenges must be resolved in order to ensure the profitability of its operations.
