Temporary curtailment of Tiskwat Mill in B.C. announced
November 22, 2021 By P&PC Staff
Paper Excellence has announced the temporary curtailment of operations at its Catalyst Paper tiskwat mill. The company noted in a release that major challenges with the congestion of the local and global supply chain have created significant problems in paper inventory and movement. The situation was aggravated by the recent atmospheric river event in B.C.
The curtailment begins from the week of Nov. 22. Paper Excellence will constantly monitor the evolving conditions and is looking at a potential restart in early Jan. 2022.
The company is making efforts to supply its paper customers with production from its Crofton and Port Alberni mills. It is hoping for a speedy return to normalcy in the supply chain environment.
Crofton’s pulp and paper operations, which has been curtailed due to power boiler maintenance outage, lifts on Nov. 24.
